Longtime Counter-Strike: Global Offensive star Richard "Xizt" Landstrom has retired at age 30.

Xizt was the in-game leader for a Ninjas in Pyjamas squad that dominated the early days of the game.

Following his run with NiP from 2012-18, the Swedish rifler played for Fnatic (2018-19) and Dignitas (2020).

"It's time for me to announce my retirement as a player," Xizt posted Thursday on Twitter. "My career has had its ups and downs, but looking back it's been an amazing and unforgettable journey. Thanks to all my teammates and everyone that has been a part of it, and a big thanks especially to the fans -- I'm really grateful for all the support I've had from you.

"The future excites me and I'm not walking away from CS yet!"

In an interview with HLTV.org, Xizt said he is interested in a position in coaching, analytical work or management.

His long list of accomplishments include MVP honors at DreamHack Masters Malmo 2016, while his numerous tournament titles with NiP include the ESL One Cologne 2014 major.
